Can someone tell me a great place to learn martial arts for adult women. I am free during the day but I attend school at night.

Well, you can start by looking it up on google? Or even look in the yellow pages…ask around, who knows? Your bestfriend could know the perfect place!

I hope that you find a place, good luck!

We’re going to need a location (city) if anyone can give you any help. If you could provide that, maybe somebody can direct you better.

In the meantime, I can give you some general advice.
I suggest you find a class you are comfortable with, an environment you like. It’s at least as important as style. So take the time to shop around and find an instructor you feel you can work with. You’re going to come into close physical contact with a lot of people in situations that can be very uncomfortable. So it’s important you’re in an atmosphere you like and with people you trust.

Once you found that school, I say stick with it. If there’s a will, there’s a way. I don’t have a car myself, but my school is about 40 minutes out of town. I hitch a ride with another student and give him a couple of bucks for gas on the week, and I take the shuttle bus on the weekend. As a jobless students, I’m guessing you probably don’t make a lot of money, but again - there’s always a way to make it work.

Your schedule makes it a bit tough to attend classes, since most are given in the evening. If you’re lucky, you might find a class to correspond with that free evening. Otherwise, you can probably find a weekend class. Once a week is not a lot, but if it’s all you can do, it’s better than nothing.

    Best of luck to you.

I am a student and assistant instructor of Isshinryu. I know there is a dojo in detroit but i don’t if detroit is in your part of the state. A lot of people like the style because it’s based on speed and snap, not strenth and flexible. I’m 4′8” and fight people of all sizes. While i don’t live in Detroit, the dojo i attend is similar to the one in Detroit. You are more than welcome to look at our website of. You ask me questions too at. Melissa
