Is there a way to learn martial arts techniques yourself?

Closed asked:

I sort of know how to defend myself but I wanna learn so deadly moves. I don’t wanna go up to some guy with a black belt claiming that he has mastered kung fu, karate, and etc and then let him slowly drain my money each week and teaching me a little… If there are instructions and illustrations I know I can learn it by just following it. And how do we practice dodging very quickly? I must learn all of these myself.

you need to make it to the book store or a library… I’m SURE you will find something to help teach yourself.

I guess through a book or video but to have an instructor is key. A Sensei will see what you need to improve on & guide you.

Depends on what you want - I don’t think you can self master a martial art - but hey go for it.

I don’t consider what I have learned to be a drain on my money either. I consider it well worth spent. You can’t get personal training in a gym for money like this.

Do a search for martial art online and you should get all kinds of resources to purchase.

of course and get a book on how to be a concert pianist, while you’re at it.

I dont recommend learning by yourself. You need an instructor to guide you in doing correct techniques and moves.
However you can teach yourself discipline by using a DVD that teaches patterns, learning patterns is one way to sharpen your skills. It shows how to fight multiple attackers from different directions.
    Good luck
